Part four
(Different point of view)

The person who looked at me was no doubt beautiful. The long dark hair; the redness on her cheeks from running hard, and the stunning eyes. There was no missing her lovely gaze. She looked into my deep violet eyes, and I stared into her sparkling brown ones; but hers were filled with fear. I glanced down to my hands and saw they were translucent. They glowed with a bright white substance peeling away like mist being dissolved in the sun. She was opening her mouth to let out a scream when I looked back up to her. Without realizing, I had thrown my hands up in front of me and shook them around calling for her to calm down. Then it hit me, I was floating in mid air. There was nothing but a black pit beneath me. My arms dropped to my side and I stood there completely still, two floors away from any kind of flooring. A loud scream escaped her lips and her eyes rolled back into her head and she went limp. Colliding with the floor, she bounced and turned to her side, dropping the flashlight to the ground. It spun when her arm hit it and it slid to the ledge and fell into the black abyss below into nothingness. A few seconds past before any sound of the devise was heard crashing and probably breaking from the great height. I bit my lip and took one step towards her, walking down as if it were only steps I had been up top of. Brushing the pure white hair from my eyes, I bent down and grabbed one of her arms and checked if she had a pulse. And she did. A slight smile appeared to cross my face and I took both of her arms and lifted her onto my back. She was slipping a bit, but I managed to carry her downstairs to the second floor from the attic we had been in. The room I took her to had one single bed in the corner and so I carefully laid her down on top of it and a heap of dust flew out from under the girl; creating a blinding scene. The dust had already begun to rain down on her clothes and face. She looked even more lovely now that she wasn't screaming at me, but she probably would scream even more if she were to wake up and see me gazing over her like some kind of sick weirdo.
"I better go and look for her flashlight, I presume. Don't want her to get lost in the dark now." And with that, I turned from my spot and walked out gently closing the door behind me, making a small click as it did.

The entire place was completely dark. However, a few beams of moonlight came through the cracked or shatter windows that aligned the dented wall structures of the old house. Although I used to seeing such dismay, and my eyes were used to the darkness, I had to be careful not to forget what I had found. I thought to myself as I walked right through a flipped over couch and table towards the basement steps. I could have easily sunk down to the basement level and back again, but what if she were to wake up and see me come up then? But what about the glow coming off me? She defiantly would see that! I stopped in my tracks and put my hand eye level to my face. A few bits of bright light flew off the fingertips and dissipated into the darkness. "I wonder if I could-" I thought for a moment and closed my eyes. I squeezed them shut and made a painful grin, barring my teeth. Slowly I opened my eyes and was astonished that the glow has completely disappeared. Leaving only a pale human-looking hand in its place. The strategy went according to plan. Even though you could still see through me, it was way better than looking like I'm constantly engulfed in white flames. The way to the basement was easy, yet in thrilling. "I wonder what she was going to say to me, now that I at least look more human-like than before?"

Reaching the bottom of the steps, my eyes fully adjusted to the even more dark atmosphere surrounding me. The floor was full of dust and cobwebs. Piles on piles of boxes and books were shattered around like a tornado had hit the place, leaving only dirt and rubble in its wake. Over in the corner laid something underneath a blanket, I dared not approach it. Calmly, I didn't look at it and went over to the clearing of dust that was surrounding the flashlight from earlier. Luckily only the top had come off it and the batteries as well. Carefully I gathered the items and put the pieces back together again before making my descent back to the upper floor.

The sounds of coughing and wheezing shattered the thoughts running through my mind. I had stopped to peek over the stairs to the door and saw the young girl had opened it and was trying to wipe the dust from her ruined clothing.
"H-hello?" She spoke so softly that I barely heard her say anything at all. There was no reply. She moved a step forward and hit her sandal on the side of a broken TV that had fallen to the ground. She really needed this flashlight. With a slight sigh, I flipped on the light and gently placed the devise on the ground and rolled it towards the now jumping in pain girl. She jolted at the sight as I walked the rest of the way up the steps and silently blended in with the environment. Hesitant at first, the girl got onto her knees and touched the light but stopped when she heard something rattling by her. It appeared that I was walking backwards from her and pushed over a tall metal vase from the fireplace and it had fallen over and was now spinning on the floor clockwise. I glanced from the object and back to her and she was trembling as she was holding the light towards where I was. The flash of the light blinded me, due to the fact that I was not used to such a bright source; and I put up my hands. "Did she see me?" I thought to myself and panicked. Even though I was invisible, bright light can make me cast a slight dim shadow of myself.
"W-who's there? Show yourself at once!" The scared girl yelled it like a Drill Sargent would give out orders. At first it shocked me, but I knew there was no use. She was staring right at the outline of myself, and her eyes were staring into where she thought mine were. "I know you are there, no use hiding to me if  I can-" She noticed the outline of me slowly lowering my arms and rubbing the back of my head, and she held a hand over her mouth in surprise. I had to show her.

Slowly, though carefully, I reformed my structure, and made myself visible to her. The look on her face struck me with curiosity, she was not screaming, nor trying to turn. Though she was still trembling, I could see it in the shaky grip she had with the light she held pointed to me.
“Excuse me miss, but would you kindly turn that devise off, or point it in another direction, please?” She gasped at the sound of my voice and quickly switched off the brightness. The sudden darkness of the room made her rub her eyes, and I tried not to smile at the funny sight. “I am surprised that you didn’t try to scream, or suddenly faint to the floor before me like you did the first time you laid eyes on me.” I looked to a broken window and glanced back to her. “Most people would just run at the very realization of my presence. I am very impressed, deary.” Her eyes went wide and she took a step back, still keeping her eyes locked on mine; and mine with hers. We gazed into each others sight, almost losing ourselves in the trance, before I broke away and smiled. Although the moment didn’t last that long, the girl had already stopped being so tense about her situation and began to relax; but not letting her guard down. With the step of my foot, I was coming closer to the confused person who was still backing up; and sadly to a wall. The now tearing up girl felt the surface of the crumbled wall behind her and she burst into tears and slid to the floor. She pulled her legs to her chest and she hugged them close. “Please miss, don’t be scared of me, I mean you no harm. I truly do not wish to frighten you, nor anyone who has come into this dreadful place I am trapped in.” The last line made her jolt.
“You’re trapped in this terrible place... Ghost?” She looked up from her position to ask the question. A gentle smile went on my face and I knelt down before her and spoke, “Please, you can call me Kris. I would not rather be called a ghost, not that you would want to be called what you are.”
“Oh, I’m sorry gh-... Kris.”
“Now, that’s better. So what is your name, unless you would like be just be called a human girl, I wouldn’t mind that either.” I gave a cheerful smile and placed a hand under her chin so she could look at me instead of her rustled skirt.
“My-my name?” I nodded slightly, trying not to force her to spit it out.
“My name is Sarah Thompson.”
“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you miss Thompson.” The moment I took my hand away from her, I felt a jolt of energy coming off of her. “What was this feeling?” I fell backwards onto my side and cramped up. “I feel drained all of a sudden, but why?” The energy has struck me like lightning would a tree; sudden, but no doubt deadly.
Sarah had gotten up, wiping the tears from her cheeks and rushed over to me. “Kris?! What’s happening to you?” I could barely hear her say anything before I disappeared from her sight...
What's this?! A new point of view?! Now we get to the good stuff. :3
